A wonderful kit to allow children to raise their own painted lady butterflies to release into the wild.  Educational kit which helps children learn all about the amazing lifecyle of the butterfly, together with Eric Carle's beloved story of the Very Hungry Caterpillar.  Observe all the stages from tiny caterpillar to adult butterfly.

Send away the voucher included in the pack to receive your tiny caterpillars, together with their food supply.

Watch the hungry caterpillars eat, grow, spin silk and form cocoons!  Eventually they will hatch out into beautiful Painted Lady butterflies!  Painted Lady butterflies are native to the UK and Northern Europe.  Keep the butterflies in the mesh butterfly habitat for a few days to study and enjoy them, then release them into the garden.

Very Hungry Caterpillar Butterfly Kit
Excellent gift for my 3 year old granddaughter. She was very excited and kept asking when her caterpillars would arrive. They arrived 2 days after we sent for them so she didn't have to wait long. Now seven days later they have grown to over 30 times their original size. We received five in total and they are all going strong. I expect we'll have butterflies before too long and just hope the sun is waiting for them.
